William D. Goetze - Senior Advisor

As the first president of Global Vehicles U.S.A., Inc., Bill Goetze was instrumental in establishing the company and preparing for the introduction of Mahindra products into the American market. Now he brings 40 years of automotive experience to his role as senior advisor, past president.

Goetze began his automotive career in 1960 with Chevrolet, moving in 1968 to Chrysler. In both organizations, his sales and marketing savvy, coupled with leadership skills, won him frequent promotions.

In 1972, Goetze joined Mazda Motors of America where he helped build the brand’s U.S. distribution network. In 1976, he joined Subaru’s independent distributor organization in Florida. It was during this time that Subaru of America purchased the company, designated it as its Southeast Region and named Goetze as its vice president and general manager.

While still domiciled in Florida, Goetze rejoined Mazda in 1987 as senior vice president and general manager. His area of responsibility originated in Jacksonville, FL, but subsequently moved to the Northeast and Southern California. His tenure at Mazda in the late 1980s produced record-breaking sales growth throughout major regional markets.
